Corps commanders to discuss NATO supply issue today
RAWALPINDI: Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Ashfaq Pervaiz Kayani has summoned Corps Commanders Conference today (Wednesday) to take them into confidence over restoration of NATO supplies. According to media reports, corps commanders and principal staff officers would participate in today’s conference to discuss certain issues pertaining to NATO supplies. Pakistan had cut off NATO supplies after the US attack on Salala checkpost in November in which at least 24 soldiers were killed.After the attack, Pakistan also got vacated Shamsi Airbase from NATO forces. Since then relations have remained tense between Pakistan and the US. The US has been exerting pressure on Pakistan by using various channels for restoration of NATO supplies. online
