JUI-F sailing in two boats: Nisar
ISLAMABAD: Opposition leader in the National Assembly Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan on Wednesday accused the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) of double standards on various issues. Nisar said the JUI-F should make it clear whether it was with the government or the opposition. Criticising the party for electing PPP lawmaker Khursheed Ahmad Shah as the Parliamentary Committee on Appointment of Election Commission chairman, the opposition leader advised the JUI-F leadership not to sail in two boats at one time. The opposition leader regretted that the JUI-F secured representation in the parliamentary panel on the opposition’s quota, but was supporting the government, which according to him was ironical. He said that it was not for the first time that the JUI-F leadership showed its “dual standards”. Nisar said that if the situation remained the same his party would be left with no option, but to approach the National Assembly speaker to disassociate the “treasury members” sitting in the parliamentary panel on the opposition’s quota. “Those, always ready to strike deals on every issue, are not expected to play role of the opposition,” he asserted. tanveer ahmed
