SHC judge to probe firing on Awami Tehreek rally
KARACHI: A high level meeting chaired by Sindh Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah was held on Wednesday to discuss the firing on the Awami Tehreek rally. During the meeting, Chief Minister Shah ordered that a judge from the Sindh High Court (SHC) would probe the incident.
The meeting was also attended by the Chief Secretary, Home Secretary, IG Police, DG Rangers along with Commissioners and Deputy Commissioners.
The Chief Minister also directed relevant authorities to ensure security at rallies and processions. It was also decided that political parties would have to comply with a code of conduct and the home ministry could impose section 144 in case of deteriorating law and order situation in any area.
