Govt issued notice over funds for Thar Coal ProjectLAHORE: Justice Mansoor Ali Shah of the Lahore High Court (LHC) on Tuesday issued a notice to the federal government on a petition seeking directions for the government to allocate funds for the Thar Coal Project in the next budget.
The judge sought reply from the federal government by October 10. The petitioner’s lawyer, Maqsood Gujjar, had submitted that Pakistan was facing energy crisis, which was affecting industrial and economic activities in the country. He said the Thar Coal Project was initiated to deal with the energy crisis and the project team had conducted successful experiments regarding gasification of coal. staff report
