NADRA eases CNIC issuance rule for Hindus
ISLAMABAD: The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) inserted a new law, Regulation 14, National Database and Registration Authority (Application for National Identity Card) Regulation 2002, on the directions of the Supreme Court of Pakistan (SCP), as per notification an applicant, who is a married Pakistani Hindu woman, needs only to provide an affidavit as a proof of marriage while applying for the first time for a Computerised National Identity Card (CNIC) with her husband’s name on it. NADRA has been incorporated this policy in NADRA regulations to ease the processing of CNIC’s of Hindu community. staff report
