Accused in Wali Babar case killed in shootout with police
KARACHI: A primary accused in murder of Geo News reported Wali Khan Babar has been killed in a shootout with police early Saturday morning at Sea View, Geo News reported.According to police, two armed robbers were injured in an encounter and were arrested at 4 am today while four others managed to escape from the scene. A policeman was also wounded during early morning action.
Later, one of the robbers succumbed to his injuries who was identified as Liaqat Ali. He was wanted in Geo News reporter Wali Khan Babar’s murder case.
Accused Liaqat’s car was used in the reporter’s murder.
Wali Khan Babar was shot dead on January 13, 2011 in Liaquatabad No. 1 when he was returning home from office.
The other held culprit was identified as Rashid alias Chamber.
