Imran threatens tsunami march if rulers defy SC orders* PTI chief says his party will not allow division of Sindh

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan on Sunday vowed to take out a tsunami march towards Islamabad if rulers defied the Supreme Court orders.
Addressing a party workers meeting at Liaquat Bagh, he declared that the PTI would file a petition against the ruling of the National Assembly speaker about Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani’s conviction in a contempt case.
Imran said that Gilani should leave the office of the prime minister on moral grounds after his conviction by the apex court.
The PTI chief took to task President Asif Ali Zardari and PML-N President Nawaz Sharif, saying they would not withstand the tsunami march of the PTI.
He said that President Zardari was the biggest evil and warned Nawaz that tsunami was going to hit him soon.
He criticised the prime minister for his reported shopping of three suits for Rs 7 million and announced to drag him in court for this lavish spending and the UK visit.
Imran claimed that popularity gap between PML-N and PTI in Punjab was fast narrowing and referred to an international institution’s survey that puts PML-N’s popularity at 41 percent and PTI at 33 percent that was 80 percent and three percent few years ago.
He also termed his party the most popular in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan by gaining the popularity level of 50 and 35 percent, respectively, compared to other political parties.
He announced to hold a public meeting in Hyderabad on June 22, and vowed to end atrocities committed by feudal lords in Sindh.
Imran also declared to keep the present administrative set up of Sindh intact and said that his party would not allow anyone to divide the province.
The PTI chief also announced to give special status to Balochistan when he comes into power, saying that record development projects would be started in the province to mitigate the deprivations of the people.
On the upcoming elections, Imran said that a sinister plan was underway to rig the elections. However, he said that no one could block the march of the PTI’s tsunami.
He pointed out that conspiracies were being hatched against armed forces by “Mir Jaffars and Mir Sadiqs” of the country and vowed to protect the army against all bad designs.
Talking about his party’s strategy to improve the economy, Imran said that his party would put the system in order so that people have the trust to invest in Pakistan, and termed the overseas Pakistanis a big asset of the country who would invest here if a trust is developed that their money would not be eaten up by corrupt rulers.
Earlier, PTI central leader Makhdoom Javed Hashmi lashed at the PML-N leadership and accused them of making conspiracies to get him defeated in a constituency in Rawalpindi where he was elected as MNA in 2008 elections.
He accused the PML-N of covertly supporting Zardari and blamed Sharif brothers of leaving the country at the times of crisis.
