Budget to focus on stability, relief to people: PM

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani in a meeting with Finance Minister Dr Abdul Hafeez Shaikh said the coming budget would focus on ensuring macro-economic stability, growth, utilisation of resources, protection of vulnerable groups, incentives for private sector development and relief to the public, while ensuring fiscal balance.

The finance minister called on the prime minister at the Prime Minister’s House on Sunday to review the decisions of the National Economic Council.

Gilani expressed satisfaction that the coming year’s federal development budget would be increased from Rs 300 billion to Rs 360 billion, which would be used for balanced development and completion of projects. app
