Army deployment for elections begins in KarachiKARACHI: In a measure to provide security during the elections, army deployment is underway in the metropolis.
The army has been deployed to various areas of the city and will act as a quick response force during the elections. The deployment of army to other parts of Sindh and Punjab will commence on Friday.
Meanwhile ballot papers for Balochistan have reached Quetta from Karachi. Three planes will transfer the ballot papers from Karachi to Gawadar, Shamshi Airbase and Jacobabad. They will be transported to rural areas of Balochistan from these points via army helicopters.
Provincial Election Commissioner Balochistan, Syed Sultan told Geo News that ballot papers for far flung areas of the province will be distributed by the army.
