PTI will win elections with majority: Imran

By Kashif Hussain

LAHORE: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf chief Imran Khan said on Sunday that people would reject the Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N) and his party would win the elections with majority.

Imran launched the second “electioneering attack” on the fort of Nawaz League addressing five processions in the Lahore city in a day on Sunday. He had held four processions in the city four days ago in a day. The PTI held a special Azm-e-Pakistan Convention in the morning at Aiwan-e-Iqbal Auditorium on Sunday in which Imran addressed the party workers and activists. In the evening, he addressed election gatherings in four different constituencies of the city, NA-129 Nishat Colony, NA-127 Model Town R-Block, NA-122 Samanabad Doongi Ground, NA-121 Sabzazar Colony A-Block.

The PTI chief addressed processions participated by thousands of people, a sign of his party’s popularity in the headquarter of Nawaz League. Addressing the gatherings, Imran said that with the support of people, change is not just coming but it has already come. He said that if his party is voted to power it would make Pakistan a united nation. Imran said that PTI would move Pakistan forward while learning from the past mistakes and the law and justice system would be strengthened to bring unity in the nation.

The PTI chairman also vowed to end corruption and said that the country was at a critical juncture. He said that PTI would make Pakistan a strong and stable state by eradicating corruption and injustice from society. He assured the nation that his party would make Pakistan an independent and sovereign country which is economically self-reliant. He said we do not need to seek loans from foreign countries and organisations as the country has ample resources.

Indirectly pointing to allegations by some religious parties’ candidates about his beliefs, Imran said that religion should not be used to gain political mileage. He expressed his believe in the youth again, saying that the youth has decided for change and will not back down now. About the social and economic issues, he said that his party would focus on welfare of people after coming into power and give incentives to small farmers and small industrialists to steer the country towards prosperity. He said that the era of self-centred politics is over and if his party comes into power it would focus on welfare of the people.

Imran claimed people would reject the Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N) and his party would win the elections with majority. Addressing a public meeting at Dhobi Ghat Ground, he said those who could not bring about any change in the lives of people despite ruling the country would be rejected by the masses. He said the people were fully aware of those claiming themselves to be “experienced and honest politicians” but had in fact introduced a culture of corruption, nepotism and favouritism.

The PTI chairman said, “I know how to uplift the image of Pakistani nation and after coming to power I will make the nation great one at par with the developed countries.” He added, “Pakistan can attain a dream of progress and prosperity by promoting education and we will enhance budget of education sector by five hundred percent and impose an emergency in the education sector,” Imran said.
