Lal Masjid operation : IHC seeks reply from SHO on plea for registration of FIR
ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court on Tuesday issued a notice to the Aabpara Station House Officer and sought a reply within seven days on a plea for registration of a criminal case against former president Gen (r) Pervez Musharraf in the Lal Masjid operation case.
A single-member bench of Justice Noorul Haq N Qureshi conducted the proceedings of the plea filed by Haroon Rasheed, son of Gazi Abbdul Rashid, through his counsel Tariq Asad, against the murder of his father and grandmother in the Lal Masjid operation.
During the hearing, Tariq Asad informed the bench that Ghazi Abdul Rashid and Sahiba were killed during a military operation ordered by then president Pervez Musharraf.
“Several applications had been filed before the Aabpara SHO to register the FIR, but the requests were turned down. Now from the report of the commission set up on the orders of the Supreme Court, it is disclosed that the military operation had been carried out by the orders of General (r) Musharraf,” he said.
He claimed that in the ‘silence operation’, a large number of innocent persons, including boys and girls, had been killed.
Tariq argued that in view of the evidence, the legal heirs of the innocent victims had been filing applications to the police and civil authorities from time to time, requesting the police to register criminal cases against the persons responsible, but their requests were not accepted. He prayed the court to register a murder case against General (r) Pervez Musharraf. app
