Army deployed at most sensitive polling stations: ISPR
RAWALPINDI: Pakistan’s top military command, on the request of Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP), has deployed army personnel at most sensitive polling stations across the country, Geo News reported.
According to ISPR, General Headquarters, on the request of ECP, has changed final security plan despite short period of time and a decision to deploy troops at most sensitive polling stations has been made besides quick response forces. Implementation on the plan has also begun.
The decision to deploy army at most sensitive polling stations is being made on the advice of civil administration concerned, intelligence agencies and other security organizations.
ISPR says army is being deployed under article 245 of the constitution for security in elections.
