ECP halts voting at 42 polling stations of NA-250 Karachi
KARACHI: Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has stopped balloting at 42 polling stations of NA-250 Karachi over rigging complaints, Geo News reported.
According to ECP, the polling was halted over complaints of rigging from Deputy Returning Officer. It further says that polling will be held again on these polling stations.
It may be noted here that voting started late at various polling stations of this constituency due to delay in reaching election staff and stationary. ECP had earlier extended time for three hours on NA-250.
MQM’s Khushbakht Shujaat and PTI leader Dr Arif Ali are leading candidate on this constituency, however, Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan has boycotted elections in Karachi over rigging allegations. Naimatullah Khan was JI candidate for NA-250.
