Pakistanis asked to cancel trip to India
ISLAMABAD: Pakistan on Friday advised the intended pilgrims to Ajmer Sharif to cancel their visit due to disturbed security situation in India. A Foreign Office spokesman said in a statement that the Indian deputy high commissioner, in a meeting with the South Asia director general, has conveyed that due to the prevailing security environment in India, the government of India would not be in a position to ensure the safety and security of the group of pilgrims from Pakistan scheduled to visit Ajmer Sharif for participation in the annual urs of Khawaja Moinuddin Chishti (RA) from May 13 to 23. The spokesman said New Delhi had advised Islamabad that pilgrims should be asked to call off their visit. Necessary advice in this regard has been conveyed to the Ministry of Religious Affairs. app
