Imran welcomes vote, but alleges rigging
* PTI chief says high turnout in elections is a step forward for democracy
* Party will issue ‘white paper’ on alleged vote-rigging

LAHORE: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan on Sunday welcomed the high turnout in the country’s elections as a step forward for democracy, but said his party would submit a report on alleged vote-rigging.
Talking to media from the Shaukat Khanum hospital where he is recuperating after a fall during an election rally, he congratulated the entire nation, especially the youth and women, for taking part in the democratic process to build new Pakistan. Imran said that the entire nation is happy and the people who had never voted in their life before came out in big numbers on the polling day to change the fate of the country. He said he was happy with the enthusiasm and awareness among the nation, especially the youth.
Imran said that victory and defeat are part of the game, but all his pain of defeat on Lahore constituency has evaporated after seeing the enthusiasm of the youth, especially the women, who had never cast their votes in the past but came out this election to make a new Pakistan. Referring to the high turnout in the elections, he said this is a sign that Pakistan is moving forward on the path of democracy.
Talking about alleged rigging in Karachi, he said the PTI is gathering evidences on the change of voting results in the city. Imran noted that he was happy that the people of Pakistan have developed political maturity. He also said that his party would submit a report on alleged rigging to the Election Commission of Pakistan. agencies
