Shahbaz vows to hold looters, plunderers accountable

LAHORE: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader, Shahbaz Sharif Tuesday vowed to hold looters and plunderers accountable, saying that the law and constitution would take its course.

Talking to newsmen here on Tuesday where several independent MNAs-elect and MPAs-elect announced to join PML-N, Shahbaz said that bitterness of election should now come to an end and all parties should join hands to address the challenges confronting the nation.

To a question, he said despite the fact that PML-N and JUI-F can form government in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in cooperation with independent candaites and other parties but Mian Nawaz Sharif has already decided that PTI would be given an opportunity to form the government in the province.

He said the government would be formed in Balochistan in collaboration with friendly parties.

Shahbaz Sharif replied in negative when asked whether PML-N would demand resignation of President Asif Ali Zardari.

Asked about allegations of rigging in elections‚ he said EU Observer Mission has already declared that 90% elections were transparently held and if there is any complaint then it is from Karachi.

He also pointed out that interim chief minister of Punjab Najam Sethi too has categorically stated that elections were held in a fair and transparent manner.

Shahbaz said Najam Sethi was nominee of PPP and PML-N supported him to convey the message that politicians can sort out issues.
