110 election irregularity complaints received: ECP Secretary

ISLAMABAD: Secretary Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP), Ishtiauqe Ahmed said Thursday that 110 complaints regarding irregularities during the elections were received.

Briefing the media outside the ECP office, Ahmed said the commission had formed election tribunals which would hear these complaints.

The ECP reviewed reports of the Free and Fair Election Network (FAFEN) regarding over 100 percent voter turnout at polling stations. The ECP Secretary said voter turnout at this polling stations was normal and the FAFEN record would be investigated, adding that if the Presiding Officer is at fault action would be taken against them.

Ahmed further said that recounting had been ordered for nine constituencies and complaints put forwarded by the PTI chairman would also be evaluated. According to Ahmed, the decision on fingerprint verification would be made by the election tribunal.

The Secretary Election Commission told the press that a decision regarding NA-250 would be made on Friday.
