National Peoples Party merges with PML-N

LAHORE: The National Peoples Party has announced its merger with the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N).

Addressing a news conference along with PML-N leader Shahbaz Sharif in Lahore on Friday, National Peoples Party President Ghulam Murtaza Jatoi announced the merger of his party with the PML-N. He expressed full confidence in the leadership of PML-N chief Nawaz Sharif. Murtaza Jatoi hoped that the PML-N would focus on the revival of national institutions “destroyed by the previous government”. Speaking on the occasion, central PML-N leader Shahbaz Sharif vowed to focus on accelerating development projects, overcoming energy crisis and creating job opportunities.

Separately, successful National Assembly independent candidates Awais Leghari and Jamal Leghari of Dera Ghazi Khan have also joined the PML-N. The sons of former president Farooq Leghari, Awais Leghari and Jamal Leghari along with three independent candidates met the PML-N leader Nawaz Sharif at Raiwind. agencies
