Re-poll in NA-250 a stepping stone, says Qureshi

* PTI VP says dominating parties of city unable to bear that things are changing

Staff Report

KARACHI: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Vice President Shah Mehmmod Qureshi said that the interim government has failed to conduct free and fair election in Karachi.

He expressed these views while visiting different polling stations of NA-250 here on Sunday.

Qureshi was of the view that the citizens have laid the foundation of change in Karachi.

“Dominating parties of the city are unable to bear that things are changing,” he said, adding that people have rejected the politics of threats, and believe that the mandate of Karachi has been stolen.

Qureshi appreciated the people who have come to vote after the assassination of Zahra Shahid Hussain. Replying to a question, PTI Vice President said, “Deteriorating political situation in Karachi is because of massive rigging, and his party will answer if Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) sent any notice,” he said, adding that the PTI will play its vital role as opposition.

He asserted that free and fair elections could bring change in the city, and demanded for re-election in all constituencies in which rigging was reported.

He concluded by asking, “What was Zahra Shahid Hussain’s fault?”
