PPP Balochistan president quits
QUETTA: The chief of Pakistan People's Party Balochistan Chapter Mir Sadiq Umrani has quit party post here on Tuesday.
" I have tendered my resignation to the party leadership", confirmed Umrani while talking to APP.
Giving reason behind his resignation from the party provincial post, he said the defeat of PPP in Balochistan during election 2013 and insufficient efforts for the solution of Balochistan issue has coerced him to quit the party post.
However, Umrani stressed that his affiliation with the party spanning over 34 years would remain intact and he would continue pursuing the vision and mission of late Shaheed Benazir Bhutto for prosperous Pakistan.
He alleged that caretaker government and Election Commission failed to hold fair election in Balochistan, he claimed.
Election 2013 were free but not fair as supporters of PPP in the PB-28 constituency were deliberately harassed creating such an environment in the area to deprive them from casting vote, he maintained.
Sadiq Umrani said that due to the rocket and bomb attacks on May 11, some 90 percent of women could not cast their vote in Balochistan constituency of PB-12.
He called upon the Election Commission of Pakistan to conduct re-election at all the polling stations where polls were rigged.
