MQM forms 12-member acting coordination committee
KARACHI: The Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) has included five more members to its party’s acting coordination committee taking the total number of members to 12, Geo News reported.
Addressing office bearers here Thursday, Mr. Hussain announced five more names M. Ashfaq Mangi, Gulfaraz Khan Khatak, Yousuf Shahwani, Iftekhar Randhawa and Mrs. Mumtaz Anwar for the MQM’s interim coordination committee.
Earlier, MQM had dissolved its Karachi and London coordination committee and announced its 7-member interim body that comprised Aamir Khan, Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, Kanwer Navaid Jameel, Dr. Nusrat, Dr. Sagheer Ahmed, Dr. Farooq Sattar and Saif Yar Khan, to look-over party affairs.
In a statement issued from London, MQM has directed its workers, who were suspended or their membership was cancelled for violation of code of conduct, to submit applications for the revival of their party membership, adding that office bearers of London would review the pleas.
A day earlier, MQM’s Karachi Tanzeemi Committee (KTC) was dissolved, while the basic membership of Hamad Siddiqui, In charge of KTC, was also revoked as part of a cleansing drive that MQM leader Altaf Hussain launched a few days back.
