Ghous Ali Shah likely candidate for governor Sindh

KARACHI: Senior leader of Pakistan Muslim League-N, Syed Ghous Ali Shah has become the most potential candidate in his party for the position of Sindh Governor.

Shah is a former judge of the Sindh High Court. He had also remained chief minister of Sindh for three years from 1985 to 1988. He also kept the position of Federal Defence Minister from 1991 to 1993. Shah has also served as Federal Minister for Education during last government of Mian Nawaz Sharif.

According to the party sources, the PML-N will appoint its own governors in all provinces soon after taking over the affairs of Federal Government. The party leaders were busy in considering potential candidates within the party to fill the offices.

Sources said that Shah is being considered by senior party members as most suitable and potential candidate for the slot of governor. He is also being considered for his old affiliation and loyalty with the party, and also the capability for the post.

He is among senior most Muslim league leaders in the country. He has held position of provincial head in the PML continuously since 25 years. He was also implicated in Plane Hijacking Case along with then Premier, Nawaz Sharif, by Musharraf.

He was inducted as one of the main accused in the case as he was provincial head of the Sindh government at that time in capacity of chief advisor of Nawaz Sharif for Sindh Affairs. Later he also had to live in exile for a period of seven years abroad after Sharif had been forcefully sent to Saudi Arabia. razzak abro
