Judicial Commission recommends extension in judges’ services

ISLAMABAD: Judicial Commission Saturday recommend one-year extensions in the services of Sindh High Court (SHC) six additional judges, while Additional judge Habibur Rahman Sheikh has been dropped, Geo News reported.

Sources said that a Judicial Commission meeting presided over by the Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry recommended the extensions in services of the judges.

Among the judges recommended for extensions include: Justices Muhammad Faruque Shah, Aftab Ahmad Gawara, Riazat Ali Saher, Salahudin Panhwar, Faruque Ali Channa and Azizur Rahman.

Judicial Commission has also recommended confirmation of services of three additional judges of Peshawar High Court (PHC), namely, Justices Nasir Hussain Khan, Qaisar Rasheed, and Waqar Ahmad besides one-year extensions in the services of PHC four additional judges including Justices Asadullah Khan Chamkani, Mrs Irshad Qaisar, Ruhul Amin and Shahjahan Akhwanzada.
