PPP to extend cooperation to N-league govt

ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan People’s Party on Saturday said that it was ready to extend cooperation to the Pakistan Mulsim League-Nawaz in steering the country out of all the crisis.

Addressing a press conference, PPP veteran Syed Khurshid Shah said that they wanted continuation of democracy in the country and would support Nawaz Sharif to resolve the problems.

He said that the PPP would support government in the larger interest of the country if any need for constitutional amendment arose in this regard.

Replying a query regarding government’s performance during the last five years, Shah said that the PPP government enjoyed the mandate due to its allies, which empowered provinces through the 18th amendment to the Constitution.

He said that election results were beyond the understanding, adding that the PPP made every possible effort to hold free and fair election.
