JI voices against privatisation of govt school

Staff Report

KARACHI: Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) has demanded of the concerned authorities not to privatise the Delhi Public School and invoked the Chief Justice of Pakistan to take notice of the situation.
In a statement issued here on Friday, JI General Secretary Karachi Naseem Siddiqui expressed his deep concerns over the attempts being made to handover the Delhi Public School into private hands. He said that any such attempt will definitely affect the future of students.
Expressing his solidarity with the teachers, students and their parents, Siddiqui demanded the authorities not to privatise the school. He was of the view that this act will put devastating effect on students and the teaching staff, adding that JI will stage protest for their legal right.
He termed the said step an attempt to deprive students from their basic right to get education. Siddiqui assured the teaching staff, students and their parents, that JI leadership will raise their voice at every platform.
Siddiqui regretted that the government has failed to perform its basic responsibilities in order to safe educational institutions from privatisations.
