Sindh Assembly newly elected members take oathKARACHI: The newly elected members of Sindh Assembly have taken oath in the maiden session held on Wednesday morning here, Geo News reported.
Outgoing Speaker Nisar Ahmad Khuhro administered oath to the members of the assembly in Urdu, Sindhi and English separately.
Earlier, Speaker Nisar Ahmad Khuhro greeting the new members in the assembly said that all of you have come here with the votes of the people and confidence reposed in you and hoped that the members would try meeting the expectations of the people.
Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) has nominated Syed Qaim Ali Shah for Leader of the House, Agha Siraj Durrani for Speaker and Shehla Raza for Deputy Speaker.
PPP has 86 members in the newly elected assembly, Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) 48, Pakistan Muslim League-Functional (PML-F) 10, Pakistan Muslim League- Nawaz (PML-N) 7, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) 4, National People’s Party (NPP) 2, while Muslim League-Q (ML-Q) 1.
