Schedule for election of PM, Speaker, Deputy Speaker issued
ISLAMABAD: The schedule for election of prime minister, National Assembly Speaker and Deputy Speaker has been issued, Geo News reported Thursday.
according to which nomination papers for the three slots could be submitted by June 2 12:00 pm
According to the schedule, nomination papers for Speaker and Deputy Speaker could be submitted by June 2 12:00 pm while scrutiny of the nomination papers would be carried out on the same day. MNAs would elect Speaker and Deputy Speaker on June 3.
Nomination papers for the slot of prime minister could be submitted by June 4 while scrutiny would be carried out on the same day till 4:00pm.
New prime minister would be elected on June 5. Fehmida Mirza would be presiding officer for the election of new speaker while newly elected speaker would be presiding officer for the election of prime minister.
