No immediate visit to Pakistan: Indian PM Singh

ONBOARD INDIAN PM’S AIRCRAFT: Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh said Friday that he has no immediate plans to visit Pakistan.

Speaking to reporters onboard his aircraft while returning after a trip to Japan and Thailand, Singh said he had called Nawaz Sharif after the general elections in Pakistan and conveyed his congratulations to him. Singh told reporters that he had invited Nawaz Sharif to visit India while he (Singh) had also received an invitation to visit Pakistan.

Singh added that both he and Sharif wanted friendly relations between the countries and wanted to resolve outstanding issues peacefully.
