Only PML-N and PTI in contest for Punjab
ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairman, Imran Khan, said on Monday that there would be a one-to-one contest between the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) in Punjab.
The PTI chairman, using the social media platform, also thanked the people of Lahore and those who gathered from all parts of Pakistan for what he called Mother of All Jalsas in Pakistan's history. “I must also commend Aleem and his team for the excellent organisation,” he wrote. “Never have I witnessed such janoon at the jalsagah a night before our jalsa. InshaAllah, tomorrow Minar-i-Pakistan will witness the mother of all jalsas,” he wrote.
He said the failure to protect the peaceful tiny Hazara community in Pakistan is a matter of shame for the entire nation. “I strongly condemn the targeted killings of the peaceful Hazara community. It is shameful for our nation that we cannot protect this small community of our citizens,” Imran said in tweets.
Reacting to the statements by PML-N leaders, Imran wrote, “Rana Sanaullah and his fellow cohorts reflect the mindset of the Sharifs and how they look down on women. Scratch the surface and their real face emerges” Imran said, “Disgusted by and strongly condemn the filthy language used by Rana Sanaullah and Abid Sher Ali against our PTI women. In the past 30 years these people have always disrespected women which is against our religion and culture. I want to thank our women for coming out in such huge numbers!”
