Shab-e-Barat observed with devotion across Pakistan
KARACHI: In all parts of the country, Shab-e-Barat, the night of forgiveness, was observed with great religious fervour last night.
Houses, streets and especially mosques were lightened on the occasion. People organized mehfil-e-milad for seeking Allah’s blessings and forgiveness.
Many known Islamic Ulema addressed worshippers in various mosques after Esha prayers. In their sermons they preached the teachings of Islam so that people can live according to the Sunnah. They also prayed for the eradication of terrorism and for a peaceful environment in Pakistan.
Sindh police and rangers made special security arrangements for crowded places like shrines, mosques, Imam bargah and graveyards.
Thousands of people also visited the graves of their loved-ones. As a result massive traffic jam was witnessed across the city.
Some steps were also taken to ban the sale and purchase of fireworks for security issues.
Mayor of Karachi Wasim Akhtar also visited various graveyards of the city to ensure cleanliness and adequate facilities.
