PTI’s Uzma Kardar sends Rs50 million notice to Rana Sanullah over misogynist remarks

LAHORE: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Uzma Kardar on Saturday sent a Rs 50 million notice to PML-N lawmaker Rana Sanullah over his use of derogatory language against women.

Referring to the PTI female supporters who were in attendance during the PTI rally in Lahore, Law Minister Rana Sanaullah had said that “the women who attended the rally were not from honourable families because their dance moves implied where they had actually come from.”

Moreover, the lawmaker responded to criticism and calls for apology saying that: “I have withdrawn from my statement but I would not even utter the first letter of the word sorry.”

PTI women leader Uzma Kardar sent a legal notice to Rana Sanaullah, while she said that by uttering misogynist remarks against PTI’s female supporters, the PML-N leader has disrespected Pakistan 52 percent population which consists of females.

It was also demanded that Sanaullah apologise for his language within 7 days, and that if he fails to do so, a Rs 50 million defamation suit will be filed against him.

Sources said that the PTI Chairman Imran Khan has advised Kardar to fight a legal battle against Sanaullah.
