COAS, Air Chief condemn firing on Ahsan Iqbal, wish speedy recovery
ISLAMABAD: Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa has condemned the gun attack on Interior Minister Ahsan Iqbal in Narowal.
Ahsah Iqbal narrowly escaped death after he was shot at during a corner meeting in Kanjrur town of Narowal from a very close range.
The interior minister was rushed to a local hospital, where he underwent first aid.
According to family and police, Ahsan Iqbal is out of danger.
Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif sent his official helicopter to airlift the injured minister to a medical facility in Lahore.
“COAS condemns firing on Federal Interior Minister Ahsan Iqbal. Expresses best wishes for early recovery,” Maj-Gen Asif Ghaffor tweeted.
Separately, Air Chief Marshal Mujahid Anwar Khan, Chief of the Air Staff, Pakistan Air Force has condemned the attack on Ahsan Iqbal
In a statement, Air Chief has also expressed his best wishes for his speedy recovery.
