Lawyers observing black day today
ISLMABAD: Lawyers are observing black day today (Thursday) to mark emergency rule imposed in the country on November 3, 2007 by the then president Pervaiz Musharraf and detention of Chief Justice Muhammad Iftikhar Chaudhry along with his family, Geo News reported.
The lawyers remained out of the courts across the country to register their protest against Pervaiz Musharraf's dictatorial and unconstitutional acts of November 3, 2007.
Black flags are being displayed at bar counsels and bar associations while the lawyers are sporting black bands on their arms.
Newly-elected President of Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) Yaseen Azad Wednesday announced that lawyers would boycott courts' proceedings to denounce the former military dictator's assault on judiciary on November 3, 2009.
