New province in Punjab is peoples wish: PM
LAHORE: Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani said Saturday that the government had been hearing since 2008 that it would be removed and welcomed those trying to achieve this, Geo News reported.
Gilani said south Punjab would become a new province because that was the wish of the people. The prime minister added that all governments were accused of corruption but only the federal government was being targeted.
“If anyone has proof then they should take it to the court” Gilani said.
Commenting on granting Indian ‘Most Favoured Nation’ (MFN) status, Gilani said that India had been granted this status between 1974 and 1965, adding that apart from trade all issues would be discussed with New Delhi.
