Govt doesn't need to show muscles through rallies: PM

LAHORE: Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani on Saturday said that the Federal Government did not need to show muscles to prove its strength.

He expressed these views while responding to a question about showing of power by Pakistan Peoples Party through holding a public meeting like the Pakistan Muslim League-N or Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaaf (PTI).

"Since, we are in the government, and the government doesn't need to show power or muscles to prove its strength", the Prime Minister said.

Talking to newsmen after addressing the 125th Year Celebrations of Aitchison College, he rejected the allegations of PML-N, JUI and certain parties and made it clear that the agencies were not involved in making the PTI public meeting in Lahore successful.

He said that most of the political parties were coalition partners in the Federal Government, therefore, the parties or the public were not wary of democratic set-up.
