Zardari, Altaf pledge cooperation

ISLAMABAD: President Asif Ali Zardari made a telephonic contact with Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) chief Altaf Hussain on Saturday to discuss country’s current political situation.
According to Presidential Spokesman Farhatullah Babar, President Zardari and Altaf Hussain discussed the political situation of the country with special focus on Sindh.
The MQM chief assured the president that his party would continue to support the Pakistan People’s Party-led government at the Centre and in Sindh and would be in the forefront to foil conspiracies against the democratic setup.
Sources said that the matter of arrest of two suspected killers of Dr Imran Farooq by Pakistani security agencies was also discussed during the conversation. inp
