Mirza says to contact court against MQM, Altaf in London

KARACHI: Former Sindh home minister Dr Zulfiqar Mirza on Tuesday night left Karachi for London for stated purpose of pursuing the murder case of Dr Imran Farooq before the Scotland Yard and judiciary there.

Talking to the media at the Karachi airport and also in TV talk shows, the former minister said he was expected to meet officials of Scotland Yard.

Mirza claimed he was carrying two bags containing 'evidences' into killing of MQM leader Dr Imran Farooq, who was killed in London last year. Mirza said he would come back after one week and would give good news to the nation.

He said the purpose of his visit was to bring the killers and cruel to the justice. He urged the patriotic Pakistanis to pray for his success. The former home minister who had publicly stated sentiments against the PPP's coalition with MQM declared that he would approach the judiciary in England against the MQM and its chief Altaf Hussain.

At end of his brief chat with media, Mirza uttered long live Pakistan slogan. PPP's Information Minister Sharjeel Memon and MPA Imdad Pitafi were reportedly accompanied him. Earlier, Revenue Minister Jam Mehtab Dahar, PPP MPA Javed Shah, ANP Sindh chief Shahi Syed, former head of HRCP Iqbal Haider and others also called on Mirza at his residence separately ostensibly in the perceived gesture of support.

Earlier on Tuesday, Mirza also met with MQM-H chief Afaq Ahmed on the Sindh High Court premises but in his talk with media, he appeared to be cautious in his criticism against certain PPP leaders in contrast to his recent tirade against them.
