3rd Indonesian Solo Exhibition to be held tomorrow in Karachi
KARACHI: The third Indonesian Solo Exhibition will be held tomorrow (Friday) in Karachi. This was informed by the honourable Republic of India Consul General Rossalis R Adenan, while addressing a meeting with Pakistani importers participating in the Indonesian exhibition in Karachi.
He further informed that the exhibition be officially inaugurated by Indonesian Ambassador to Pakistan, Isaac Latuconsina. The Sindh Minister for Information Technology, Raza Haroon is scheduled to be the chief guest. He informed the press that 20 Indonesian companies have confirmed their participation besides 16 Pakistani importers.
It would be remembered that Indonesia and Pakistan signed the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) in November 2005, in which both countries commenced negotiations to conclude a Preferential Trade Agreement (PTA).
Both countries have already finalised the negotiation on the PTA in Jakarta, on September 16, 2011 and to be signed by commerce ministers at date and venue to be agreed at due course.
The Pakistan cabinet has already approved the signing and ratification of the PTA, the implementation of which will result into lowering of duty on commodities by offering respective market access. (Pakistan offers 288 tariff lines and Indonesia offers 221 tariff lines). It is hoped that the PTA will be beneficial to improving the export of both brotherly countries. pr
