PML-Q will be with PPP through thick and thin

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) chief Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain met Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani on Thursday and assured him that his party ministers would extend full cooperation to the government to strengthen democracy and the federation.

In a meeting held at the Prime Minister’s House, Shujaat said that the PML-Q and its federal ministers would continue to extend full cooperation to the government to strengthen democracy and the federation. “We are with you through thick and thin,” he asserted.

Gilani opined that the government was ready to go to any extent to ensure the supremacy of parliament and protect democracy.

Shujaat congratulated the prime minister on his successful visits to Russia on the invitation of the Russian Premier, and soon after to Maldives to represent Pakistan in the 17th South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) Summit. The PML-Q chief also felicitated the prime minister on winning non-permanent seat of the United Nations Security Council and Pakistan’s election to UNESCO’s Board with overwhelming majority for four years.

Shujaat also expressed his satisfaction over the successful endeavours of the prime minister to project the Kashmir cause at the international fora during his recent visits to the foreign countries. He said that the title of ‘Man of Peace’ given to Prime Minister Gilani by none other than Indian Prime Minister Dr Monmohan Singh was indeed a rich tribute paid by the Indian prime minister to his Pakistani counterpart. agencies
