She said that this is an unprecedented programme in the social sector of the country which is envisaged to uplift the living standard of deprived strata of the country besides poverty alleviation. She said this while talking to AJK President Muhammad Yaqoob Khan who met her at BISP Secretariat on Thursday.
Farzana Raja, at the occasion, presented details of various initiatives taken by BISP regarding poverty alleviation and informed the AJK president that the objectives of poverty alleviation are being achieved through schemes like Waseela-e-Haq and Waseela-e-Rozgar in addition to regular cash grant to beneficiary families. She said that more than one million children belonging to poor families would be enrolled in the schools as a first phase of the scheme.
AJK President Sardar Mohamamd Yaqoob Khan appreciated the efforts of BISP alongwith effective and transparent mechanisms applied by the programme which have resulted in turning this programme into a comprehensive social safety net.
