JSQM to bring out rallies in Karachi, interior Sindh

KARACHI: Jeay Sindh Qaumi Mahaz (JSQM) chairman Bashir Khan Qureshi has announced to bring out rallies in the metropolis and other parts of Sindh on Saturday (today) to celebrate Sindh Cultural Day.
This he announced while addressing a press conference at his residence in Gulshan-e-Hadeed, here on Friday.
He said main cultural rally in Karachi would be taken from Gulshan-e-Hadeed to Karachi Press Club (KPC). He said main cultural event would be held at KPC where several cultural and musical programmes had been arranged.
Jeay Sindh Tahreek (JST) vice president Habib Jatoi has said the JST had arranged a mega event in Dadu in connection with the Sindh Cultural Day while rallies would also be taken out across Sindh.
A rally has also been arranged in Karachi that would be taken out from Sachal Goth to KPC where it would join an event arranged by Sindh Media Forum (SMF), Jatoi said.
Separately, Tow Karachi-based Sindhi and Urdu newspapers have organised a concert y at the Pakistan Arts Council from 05:00pm to late night. Several singers would perform in Sindhi, Siraiki, Balochi, Pashto and Punjabi languages.
Meanwhile, All Pakistan Minorities Alliance Sindh president Saleem Khursheed Khokhar has informed Daily Times that the alliance would celebrate the day by bringing out a rally from Essa Nagri to KPC, which would join the main event.
He said they had also arranged rallies across Sindh, especially Sukkur, Larkana, Hyderabad and Khairpur. Sindh Dost Ittihad Party (SDIP) chairman Zaffar Jhandir has also said that they would celebrate the day with the flood-affected people at their localities and relief camps.
In a statement on Friday, he said SDIP had organised several programmes across Sindh and in this connection a rally would be taken out from Sea View, Clifton to KPC, where it would join main event organised by SMF. Other rallies would be staged at Bhittaiabad, Model Colony, Defence View, Mauripur and Maamar Complex, the statement added.
Musical night: The Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai Welfare Association and the Mehran Teachers Association have also arranged a musical programme in Gulshan-e-Hadeed, Phase II, L-9 Ground, on Saturday night (tonight). Folk singers, including Sodhal Faqir, Motan Shah and others will perform in it.
