KESC again offers SSGC to ink gas sale treaty
KARACHI: The Karachi Electric Supply Company (KESC) has again reiterated its offer to the Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) to ink a gas sale agreement (GSA) based on the provision of the committed quota of 276 mmcfd of gas to meet the electricity demand of the metropolis.
The KESC spokesman on Friday said the response to their offer to date had merely been silence.
KESC demanded an immediate signing of GSA, a resolution to circular debt issue, and restoration of its 276 quota of natural gas, the spokesman said.
The spokesman strongly condemned the unilateral reduction in gas supply to the power generation plants by SSGC, downing production and forcing it resort to load shedding in the usually exempt industrial zones apart from the enhanced load shedding hours in residential and commercial areas. staff report
