Qaim welcomes newly appointed Canadian HC

KARACHI: Sindh Chief Minister (CM) Syed Qaim Ali Shah welcomed the newly appointed Canadian high commissioner (HC) and apprised him about various aspects with regard to socio-economic conditions, cultural heritage, literary and health privileges of Sindh province.

He said that there are huge resources and natural wealth available in various areas of province. New Canadian High Commissioner Ross Hynes on Tuesday called on Sindh CM at CM House.

Shah said besides other countries, recently China had come for investment in Pakistan, particularly in Sindh province. He informed the high commissioner that China had signed two agreements specifically for wind power generation. He also informed him that there were big pockets of wind source on coastal belt. He also gave details of Thar Coal and Energy Project and agriculture sector products. Canadian high commissioner thanked him for the warm welcome and said that law and order situation has been improving owing to which economic activities would certainly enhance.
