Pagara rules out possible unification of PML factions

* PML-F chief says if anyone wants to do politics, he will have to join his party

* Marri extends best wishes to Pagara

KARACHI: Spiritual leader of Hur community and chief of Pakistan Muslim League-Functional (PML-F) Pir Pagara on Tuesday ruled out any possible unification of different factions of the Pakistan Muslim League.

Talking to media persons at his residence, Kingri House, on the eve of his 83rd birthday, he said, if anyone wanted to do politics, he would have to join PML-F.

To a question about the possible return of All Pakistan Muslim League (APML) chief Gen (r) Pervez Musharraf, Pagara said he would return.

Pagara said he had no enmity with anyone, however, differences could be on policy.

Responding to a query, Pagara said that the commissionerate system would remain in practice.

The PML-F chief said he had earlier gave a message to media that the month of November would be of good news and also reiterated that there would be a new environment in November and new news would emerge.

Meanwhile, Sindh Information Minister Shazia Marri has extended felicitations and best wishes to veteran politician and PML-F chief Pir Pagara on his 83rd birthday.

In a statement on Tuesday, she said the coalition with all political parties was most needed to strengthen the political fabric of Pakistani society. Marri said it was praising to see how different political parties were actively working in a democratic environment.

Appreciating the role of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP)’s Co-chairman and President Asif Ali Zardari, she said that the president’s role had been extremely productive in terms of getting all political ideologies to work together for a strong political system in the country.

“Pakistan has great potential and it is our right to be recognised for all the sacrifices we have made for the stability in the region,” she added. Marri said PPP firmly believed in ensuring sustainable democracy.
