COAS orders ‘effective response’ to attack
RAWALPINIDI: Chief of Army Staff General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani has directed all necessary steps for an effective response to the NATO attack on the border outpost on Saturday, a statement issued by the military said. The COAS strongly condemned NATO helicopters and fighter aircraft’s unprovoked firing on two Pakistan Army border posts in Mohmand Agency resulting in loss of 24 security forces officials. He said that the NATO/ISAF’s blatant and unacceptable aggression resulted in loss of precious lives of Pakistani soldiers, said an ISPR press release. While lauding the effective response by the Pakistan Army soldiers in self-defence, he directed that all necessary steps be taken for an effective response to this irresponsible act. The release said that on the night of November 25 and 26 NATO helicopters and fighter aircraft carried out unprovoked firing on two Pakistan Army border posts in Mohmand Agency killing 24 troops. app
