Government will consider opening Youtube after blasphemous content is blocked: Malik
ISLAMABAD: Interior Minister Rehman Malik said Thursday that the government would consider opening video sharing website Youtube after blasphemous content was blocked.
Malik who was speaking with reporters said from December 1, mobile phone SIMs would not be available at stores. "The SIMs would be dispatched by the respective mobile phone companies to the addresses given on the National Identity Cards." Malik added that satellite phones could not be used without being registered with the PTA.
The minister also spoke of security arrangements being made during the month of Muharram. Malik said sensitive areas in major cities had been identified but did not provide further information about these areas.
“Helicopters and CCTV cameras will be used during Muharram,” Malik said.
Commenting on the attack on Malala Yousafzai, the minister said that investigators were close to catching her attackers however it was not clear which Taliban group had attacked her.
