ECP urged to disqualify Nawaz, Shahbaz

ISLAMABAD: Giving reaction over the detailed judgement in Asghar Khan case, Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Political Affairs Fawad Chaudhry has urged the Election Commission of Pakistan to proceed for the disqualification of PML-N leaders Nawaz Sharif and Shahbaz Sharif from their respective offices of PML-N president and Punjab chief minister.

Fawad in his statement said the SC had relied on the statement of Gen Asad Durrani and Aslam Beg and hence admitted the statement of Asad Durrani in total, and part of his statement revealed the name of Nawaz Sharif and Shahbaz Sharif among others who received money from the ISI to rig the elections back in 1990.

He said as the court had set precedent in the dual nationality case for the recovery of perks and privileges, therefore, Nawaz Sharif and other PML-N leaders who held offices in the past, must return all their salaries and other benefits, which they had received.
