Nawaz calls for immediate announcement of electionsLAHORE: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz President Nawaz Sharif has said the nation was being punished with each passing minute under the present rulers, and once again called for immediate announcement of elections. Talking to senior party leaders Iqbal Zafar Jhagra and Saranjam Khan at his Raiwind residence on Saturday, Nawaz said due to self-motivated policies of the rulers, the country had reached a point where there was nothing but darkness ahead. He said it was due to corruption that the country was faced with serious economic and other crises and the only solution was holding immediate elections. He said the rulers had no concerns for the pain of the people who were denied even one meal. He asked the party leaders and workers to prepare for elections to defeat anti-people forces with the votes of the masses. inp
