Pak protests cross-border shelling from Afghanistan
ISLAMABAD: The Foreign Office on Monday summoned the Afghan Ambassador and lodged a protest over cross-border shelling.
Foreign Secretary Jalil Abbas Jilani informed the Afghan Ambassador that cross border shelling was hampering Pakistan’s efforts of maintaining peace in the region. Jilani demanded that the Afghan government take concrete steps to ensure such attacks don’t take place in the future.
On Sunday, Afghan National Army troops on fired mortar rounds from KK top killing four civilians including two children in north of Niz Narai.
Earlier while addressing the anti-drug regional conference between eleven countries in Islamabad, Jilani said Pakistan was seriously concerned over cross border infiltration from Afghanistan and this matter would be taken up with the Afghan government.
