PM Ashraf submits affidavit on dual nationality
ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf has submitted declaration to the Election Commission of Pakistan, confirming that he dose not hold dual nationality, Geo News reported on Monday.
The ECP said that Mr Ashraf submitted his affidavit while 88 MPs and members of provincial assemblies had not filed their declarations. Prominent among those who didn’t submit the affidavits include Maulana Fazlur Rehman, Nazar Gondal, Manzoor Watto, Khurshid Shah and Makhdum Shahabuddin.
The ECP said that 45 MNAs, nine Senators while 10 members of the Punjab Assembly, 19 members of Sindh Assembly, 4 members of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly and one member of Balochistan Assembly had not submitted their affidavits.
